We at Saratoga Chocolates have learned to combine high-quality California - produced chocolate with locally grown flavorings resulting in a superior product for the discerning pallet. Our Chocolatier, Mary Loomas, has been trained internationally including Valrohna's Ecole Grand Chocolat in France. She emphasizes the total experience including appearance, mouth feel, and, above all, the flavor of her chocolates.

After 20 years in high tech, Mary discovered her passion and hidden talent for creating superior confections. As Mary develops her recipes, she experimented with many different chocolates and ingredients, finally honing them through formal tastings. You'll notice Mary's chocolates are not sweet and sugary but wonderfully rich and luscious.

Mary has a wonderful team working with her to create her delights. This dedicated and small team works long and hard to bring these loving treats to you.

Our chocolates are produced right in our Saratoga Village location. We are in the heart of the Village, a wonderful shopping and restaurant district at the western edge of Silicon Valley. The Village is the gateway to several Santa Cruz Mountain's recreation opportunities and wineries. Big Basin State Park, Castle Rock State Park, and Sanbourne-Skyline County Park are all accessible by passing in front of our shop.

Or you can visit us at our second location in San Francisco. Opened in September 2009, this shop replaced Joseph Schmidt Confections which had operated at this same location for 25 years. It is in a great neighborhood on 16^th Street near Market Street.
